MUSICIANSCafe Aman is a nine piece orchestra. . Martha Lewis - vocals, guitar, composer and arranger of all Cafe Aman music In addition to her work with Cafe Aman, Martha gives other live performances and performs on television and radio. She writes commissioned music for soundtracks and other applications. Martha is also half of Martha and Eve. The performances feature a combination of these fine musicians. Anne Wood - violin Member of Electra Strings, and has performed with artists including Massive Attack and Jools Holland. Recently toured with Irish piper Davey Spillance and also with harpist Savourna Stevenson. As well as leading her own band, Cauld Blast Orchestra, Ann was MD at the National Theatre for the production of The Prime of Miss Brody. |

![]() Dinah Beamish - cello Member of Electra Strings, a contemporary strings ensemble, and has performed with artistes including Massive Attack, Jools Holland and Mark Knofler. Dinah is equally active in the fields of both contemporary and classical music. Chris Worsey - cello Leader of Millennia Strings, a contemporary strings ensemble, and has performed with artistes including Oasis, Gary Barlow, Verve, and Sheryl Crowe. Currently working with George Michael. Karen Street - accordion Karen's eclectic music tastes and wide ranging skills (she plays accordion, clarinet and flute) keeps her in demand for a
broad range of projects. Her performing credits include the R.S.C., Birmingham
Contemporary Music Group, BBC Philharmonic, the Matrix Ensemble and many West
End productions. Karen has recorded with the Fairer Sax, Ute Lemper, Tim
Garland's Lammas, and Mike Westbrook. She co-runs and plays accordion
and saxophone in the saxophone quintet 'Saxtet'
who write their own compositions. She is also involved in writing eductional
music for the saxophone and her works are published by Boosey and Hawkes, June
Emerson and Saxtet Publications. Karen played with the Steve Arguelles Quintet
last year, and her most recent work has been with the Phil Robson octet in
'Beyond the Net Curtains' commissioned by Birmingham Jazz. She plans to record
a solo accordion album at the beginning of next year. Julie Sassoon - piano and keyboards Julie is classically trained on piano and violin. She has recorded for Milan Lad alongside Jason Rebello, Jim Mullen and Andy Sheppard. Since 1995, Julie and German
saxophonist Lothar Ohlmeier have performed as a duo at Festivals and theatres
in England and abroad, playing Julie's compositions for piano and saxophone -
Inside Colours. Julie is also an artist who has exhibited her paintings
internationally and is a member of the contemporary music ensemble
'Piano Circus'. P.O.M. - solo guitar From playing Bluegrass to developing an interest in Flamenco styles and techniques POMs solo project 'Sleepwalker' involves nylon strung guitar, fretless bass, percussion and vocals. His influences range from Van Halen to Flamenco. POM has an album of
his own compositions available through
peoplesound.Davide Mantovani - bass From Italy, long-term collaborator with fellow Italian Antonio Fforcione and has performed with Jools Holland, Carol Grimes. Juan Martin and Monica Vasconcelos. Nic Cohen - bass Nick has been, and continues to be, involved in many different musical settings. As a bass player, Nick has worked consistently over the past 15 years alongside people like Tony Remy, Jason Rebello and Jon Lucien -- as well as more mainstream acts such as Massive Attack, M-People and Incognito. In more recent years, Nick has turned his hand increasingly to writing, programming and production. He has set up an independent label (smugg.net) which has released 3 albums to date.
